LOCATION: On the remote North Western edge of the Ngorongoro Crater rim, just beyond the Seneto descent road, approached along a private access road.
SETTING: Entamanu Ngorongoro (meaning ‘Circle’ in Maa) is uniquely off the beaten track yet right on the Crater rim. It has exceptional views down into the Ngorongoro Crater from one side (sunrise) and out over the Serengeti from the other side (perfect for sundowners).
ACCOMMODATION: Six canvas rooms, with one family unit perfect for those traveling with children. Each room has indoor heating and en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, and flush toilets.
HIGHLIGHTS: An unspoilt, unparalleled experience of the Crater, and the land and culture that surrounds it. It is a place to escape to, from which to learn about and understand where the Crater fits in as part of the wider environment.
ACTIVITIES: Game drives into the Crater, exploring the surrounding highlands, guided walks (for children 12 years and older), bush picnics, and sundowners. Genuine Maasai interactions with neighbouring communities.
CHILD POLICY: We are delighted to accept children 8 years and older at Entamanu Ngorongoro; children must be at least 12 years old to go on guided walks.
GETTING THERE: Regular scheduled flights from Arusha, Dar, Zanzibar, and other areas of Tanzania land at the Manyara Airstrip, which is about a 2-hour road transfer to camp. Entamanu Ngorongoro is also easy driving distance from Arusha, Tarangire, Karatu, and southern Serengeti, making it perfectly placed for inclusions in a driven northern Tanzania itinerary.
OPEN: Open year round.
