Kanzi House

LOCATION: On a Maasai-owned Group Ranch, comprising 283,000 acres of private wilderness between Amboseli and Tsavo National Parks and bordering Chyulu Hills National Park.

SETTING: Stunningly beautiful area with spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro and incredibly animal diversity.

ACCOMMODATION: This exclusive, sole-use villa accommodates up to 10 people with three double rooms and two twin rooms. Relax with a private jacuzzi, 60-foot swimming pool, pool cottage, fire pit, and of course, beautiful views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The swimming pool does not use water from a borehole that is transported from miles away. Instead, it is simply collected from the rains. It also serves as an anti-fire reservoir. Dining can be arranged either inside or out; al fresco dining is available next to the pool or in the open dining area beside the pool cottage. Guests at Kanzi House will be served by dedicated cooks and waiters, a dedicated safari guide, and a dedicated vehicle. Minimum stay of three nights.

HIGHLIGHTS: The Chyulu Hills is what Ernest Hemingway referred to as "The Green Hills of Africa". Campi Ya Kanzi is noted for its variety of activities: authentic cultural visits with Maasai families, quality wildlife viewing, hiking in the renowned Chyulu Hills, horseback riding (for experienced riders), flightseeing, and more. It's the perfect place to get out from behind the wheel and experience real Africa. A perfect getaway for couples, families, honeymooners, or multi-generational parties.

ACTIVITIES: Game drives (day and night), guided walking safaris, bush breakfasts or dinners, hiking in the Chyulu Hills, horseback riding, tracking, conservation and community out-reach programs, and cultural visits to Maasai Villages or schools. Optional day trips to Tsavo National Park, Amboseli National Park, a scenic flight close to Mt. Kilimanjaro, massage service, yoga retreats, fly camping, or a unique overnight excursion to Ithumba Camp in Tsavo East National Park, where the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust raises orphaned elephants and reintroduces them to the wild (we supply catering, guiding, etc.).

CHILD POLICY: We welcome children to Campi Ya Kanzi. Children aged 1 to 5 stay for free. The child rate applies to youths from ages 6 to 17. Age restrictions on activities may apply, specifically walking and horseback riding. Our Kid’s Program is hosted by the Maasai and is thoughtfully designed to teach and entertain younger ones.

GETTING THERE: Scheduled charter by light aircraft to the lodge airstrip. Campi ya Kanzi's own plane can be booked for seamless connections with any part of Kenya for a more "Out of Africa" flight safari than a regular transfer.

OPEN: Year round.
