LOCATION: In the vast Selous Game Reserve of Southern Tanzania.
SETTING: Right on the banks of the Rufiji River, with the lodge following the escarpment up and around a lazy bend.
HIGHLIGHTS: The sights and sounds of the river. The great variety of water adventures and activities in the surrounding woodlands and open sand banks. Sleeping in open-fronted rooms and being close to nature while enjoying all the comforts of a conventional lodge. Fabulous sightings of the water-based animals, lots of big mammals, and great birding. Visits to Stieglers Gorge, Kidai Island, our Hot Springs, and Lake Tagalala.
ACCOMMODATION (Private, Sole-Use): Four spacious and airy rooms made of stone and thatch and raised up on platforms overlooking the woodlands and river beyond. The rooms are all completely open at the front (although there is heavy netting that can be zipped closed at night should guests wish), which makes for a unique proximity to the sights and sounds of the bush. It is not unusual for elephant and other animals to browse around the rooms during day or night - a thrilling adventure to be so close and completely safe. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water, powerful showers, and flush toilets. One room has a family annex with two children's beds.

GETTING THERE: There are numerous daily flights to our airstrip (Kiba) from Dar es Salaam, Ruaha, Zanzibar, and northern Tanzania.
