Manafiafy Beach & Rainforest Lodge

 

LOCATION: Far south of Madagascar near historic Fort Dauphin.

ACCOMMODATION: Four luxury bungalows and one family villa are discreetly tucked along the edge of the forest, all with private wooden terraces and stunning views across the bay. These rooms meld local wood, ravinala thatch and stone with modern comforts to create the perfect 'Robinson Crusoe' experience. Each has a private terrace with hammock, king-sized and single bed, 270 degree windows, full en-suite with hot fresh water, walk-in shower, 24hr solar electric and sun loungers

CHILD POLICY: Children under 4 stay free. Children under 16 at 50% of adult rate. For 2 children under 16yrs staying in their own room, the first child pays the adult rate and the second child stays for free. For 3 children under 16yrs staying in their own room, the first 2 children pay 75% of the adult rate and the third child stays for free. Children’s activities are free of charge.

GETTING THERE: Schedule charter flights from Antananarivo on Mondays and Thursdays, returning Tuesdays and Fridays are by far the most reliable and preferred way to get there. Alternatively, clients can arrive any day of the week using the (far less reliable) Air Madagascar daily schedule service to Fort Dauphin. Manafiafy is 2 hrs 30 mins drive from Fort Dauphin. Between Manafiafy and Mandrare River Camp, guests can experience seven different ecosystems, encounter ten species of lemurs and learn about the various local cultures. Traveling between the two locations is easily arranged by road (6 hrs) or by light aircraft (2.5hr drive + 15min flight)
