Matetsi Victoria Falls

 

LOCATION: Located on a private 9-mile stretch of the Zambezi River, 40 min by road (10-15 min by helicopter) upstream from Victoria Falls, in 136,000 acres of pristine African wilderness.

SETTING: On the banks of the Zambezi River, offering privacy, direct river access and sweeping views.

ACCOMMODATION:  

  • Matetsi River Lodge suites are situated in two intimate camps overlooking a private section of the Zambezi. Each camp has eight suites and one family suite, offering guests the ultimate in peace and tranquility. A personal butler, along with a dedicated team, will ensure guests every need is taken care of. Suites are spacious, air-conditioned, either King or Twin and each feature a large circular bathtub, indoor and outdoor rain showers, private plunge pool, private deck and many more high-end touches. 

  • River Lodge Family Suites have been specifically designed with families in mind. Each suite consists of a master suite (as per River Lodge suites) and a children’s room, which is connected via an enclosed passageway. 

  • Matetsi River House is an exclusive-use four-bedroomed private villa offers the ideal home-away-from-home. Guests are looked after by a dedicated team, including private chef and butler. A private safari vehicle is at their disposal, with a personal guide and tracker team ensuring a tailor-made safari experience.

Activity Participation - Game Drives & River Cruises, Upper Zambezi Canoeing & Walking Safaris

  • 0 - 5 years - not permitted

  • 6 - 16 years - game drive and river cruise allowed for 13 – 16, for 6 - 12 years, allowed at Manager's discretion

  • 16 years and older are permitted to participate in upper zambezi canoeing and walking safaris

  • 17 years and older are permitted to participate in all activities

If guests have booked a Private Vehicle, children of any age may go on game drives, with access to sightings being at the discretion of the guide, based on the behaviour of both child and animals.

ACTIVITIES: Matetsi Victoria Falls offers a unique combination experience of safari, river, relaxation and the Falls all wrapped up in warm genuine Zimbabwean hospitality. There is no set pattern to days at Matetsi. Guests can do as much or as little as they wish, with game drives, walking safaris, boating trips, etc. all included. The majestic Victoria Falls can be viewed on foot in the national park or from the air.

GETTING THERE: Road transfers are available from Victoria Falls Airport (VFA) - 1hr, Livingstone Airport (LVI) - 1.5hrs or Kasane (BBK) - 1.5hrs.

Helicopter transfers are available from Victoria Falls Airport to lodge helipad, and private flights can be arranged to land on lodge airstrip.
