Namoroka Tsingy Camp




Namoroka National Park in north-western Madagascar is a mesmerising natural wonder, featuring the razor-sharp limestone formations known as Tsingy. Explore awe-inspiring landscapes with narrow canyons, vertical spires, lush forests, and unique flora. The otherworldly beauty of Namoroka Tsingy showcases Madagascar's diverse natural heritage, captivating adventurers and nature enthusiasts alike.
LOCATION: Located near the Namoroka National Park in northwest Madagascar. The camp is nestled on the edge of the dramatic Tsingy de Namoroka, a distinctive karst limestone formation characterised by sharp pinnacles, deep crevices, and lush greenery growing in pockets of fertile soil.
SETTING: Among dramatic rocky outcroppings, baobabs and close to dry forest filled with lemurs.
ACCOMMODATION: Nine safari-style tents with hand carved furniture. Each tent has a private terrace with chairs and table, a 4-poster bed with mosquito net, wardrobe and dressing table, 24hr solar lighting, hot water and a fully plumbed en-suite bathroom with solid walls. Very similar to tented accommodations in Southern and Eastern Africa's safari regions.
HIGHLIGHTS: Seldom visited Namoroka National Park spans 6 ecosystems: spectacular tsingy, over 70 miles of caves, dry forest, bamboo forest, riverine forest and wetlands. 10 lemur species including the Van der Decken’s sifaka and the Aye Aye, 21 species of bat, endemic bird species, etc.
ACTIVITIES: Days are loosely structured in a similar way as at many Southern and Eastern Africa's safari lodges. Excellent guides take guests on morning, afternoon and night walks. At Namoroka Tsingy Camp, activities highlight the region’s unique landscapes and wildlife. Explore the Small Tsingy and dramatic Grand Tsingy caves, where fossils, lemurs, and reptiles abound. Trails lead through forests and past baobabs to panoramic lookouts over the limestone spires. Night walks reveal nocturnal life—lemurs, tenrecs, geckos, and bats. Refresh in hidden natural pools, surrounded by chameleons and lush greenery. Witness vast colonies of flying foxes, an impressive endemic bat species. Bird enthusiasts can enjoy birdwatching, with over 100 species, many rare or endemic. Together, these activities immerse visitors in Namoroka’s geological wonders and vibrant biodiversity.
CHILD POLICY: Children under 4 stay free. Children under 16 at 50% of adult rate. Children under 16 yrs in their own room get 25% off the adult rate
GETTING THERE: Scheduled charter flights to Namoroka Tsingy Camp land in Soalala which is a 2hrs 30 min road transfer from the camp. In 2026 we aim to have an airstrip open that is 15 min from the camp. Flights operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 15 May - 10 November as follows:
08:00 - 09:30 : Antananarivo to Soalala
10:00 - 11:30 : Soalala to Antananarivo
