Royal Zambezi Lodge

Located on the banks of the Zambezi River, Royal Zambezi Lodge was designed by a Zambian family with in-depth knowledge & love of Africa, its heritage, and wildlife.​ The Lodge blends a good location, with access to both the Game Management Area and also Lower Zambezi National Park, with the heart and warmth of a family-owned operation that is deeply involved with local communities, conservation, all while delivering exceptional value to guests.

LOCATION: In the Game Management Area, conveniently close to the entrance to Lower Zambezi National Park, one of Zambia's premier parks.

SETTING: On the banks of the Zambezi River with sweeping views up and down the river.

ACCOMMODATION: Accommodation has been created to enhance the lodge’s natural setting while taking advantage of its prime positioning on the Zambezi River, ensuring it captures every glimmer of sunrise & wildlife from your suite. There are 7 Presidential Suites and 8 

 No single supplement charged at RZL throughout the year on standard rates for up to 4 pax per booking!

HIGHLIGHTS: Family owned and operated. Remote setting with no others camps in proximity. Excellent game viewing and warm hospitality.

ACTIVITIES: 

  • Game drives in open safari vehicles is conducted by knowledgeable guides in both the Game Management area and Lower Zambezi National Park. Private Guiding is included in the rate.

  • Guided walking safaris bring out the highlights of this wilderness area.

  • Water activities include canoeing, fishing and scenic boat cruises

  • Bush Meals in spectacular settings, normally on the banks of the Luangwa River.

  • Well-equipped, air-conditioned Gym

CHILD POLICY: Sungani does not accommodate children under 12 years of age, unless the camp is booked exclusively, in which case children are welcome. Children 12-16 pay reduced rates.

GETTING THERE: Royal Airstrip, a private tarred runway is just a 5–10-minute drive from the lodge and is open year-round. Flight time from Lusaka is only 30 minutes and guests staying at Royal Zambezi Lodge can conveniently take a seat-in-plane transfer flight managed and operated by Royal Air Charters, based in Lusaka, ensuring a seamless journey between Lusaka and Royal Zambezi Lodge. Direct flights to Livingstone, Mfuwe, etc. can be arranged (see map below).

OPEN:  Year-round, showcasing the different seasons in Zambia. As it's the only lodge in the area to stay open year-round, guests in the Dec-Mar Green or Secret season have the area all to themselves.
