LOCATION: Remote and wildlife-rich far southern reaches of South Luangwa National Park.

SETTING: On the banks of lagoon with sweeping views.

ACCOMMODATION: Four Kings and Three Doubles (Queen beds), plus a Director's Tent complete with WiFi, DSTV, Nespresso machine, outdoor sleeping and more. One Double is configured to accommodate two adults and two children. Custom designed tents are set atop polished concrete floors to create a cool environment and offer approximately 1150 square feet indoors to relax in. The design is simple and understated, furnished with elegance and natural textures. The interior focuses on comfort and warm colours, with a collection of unique pieces and details. The bathroom has a gorgeous slipper bath, fluffy towels, fresh soaps and salts. Tents have 24-hr electricity, air-conditioning and ceiling fans.

ACTIVITIES: 

• Game drives in custom built open safari vehicles with modified suspension, individual luxury seats, comfortable footrests and holders for an array of equipment. Their roof canopy is designed to be easily removed upon request and each has Manfrotto camera rests. All-day game-drives can be arranged on request.

• Guided Walking Safaris bring out the highlights of this wilderness area.

• In Green Season (Jan - Mar), boating down the Luangwa river and exploring its tributaries gives a new perspective to view wildlife.

• Bush Meals in spectacular settings, normally on the banks of the Luangwa River.

• Well-equipped, air-conditioned Gym (if you have to :)

• Spend time in special Photographic Hides adjacent to a watering hole or the lagoon to view wildlife, or on the banks of the Luangwa River to get up close and personal with the colorful carmine bee-eaters.

CHILD POLICY: Sungani does not accommodate children under 12 years of age, unless the camp is booked exclusively, in which case children are welcome. Children 12-16 pay reduced rates.​

GETTING THERE: Rates include 20-minute flights between Mfuwe International Airport and Sungani airstrip in a custom Cessna 206 (4pax). If preferred, collection can be done by road which takes around 3 hours. Chartering direct from Lusaka or other points in Zambia is also an option. Please note that guests need to arrive at Mfuwe during the day (morning flight) so that the transfer can be completed before dark.
