Tafika Camp - South Luangwa

 

LOCATION: East bank of the Luangwa River, just north of the Nsefu Sector.

SETTING: Nestled under a canopy of giant leadwood and sausage trees, the camp provides stunning views of the Luangwa River with ample opportunity to witness elephants crossing, hippos wallowing and kingfishers patiently pursuing their prey.

ACCOMMODATION:  Six spacious chalets (including a family chalet and honeymoon suite) all built from natural materials, accommodating up to 14 guests.

HIGHLIGHTS: Family-owned and hosted, remote setting, easy access by road of plane, diverse activities, great guides, hospitality and an exclusive setting far from the busier central parts of South Luangwa National Park. Cultural visits to nearby Mkasanga Village where the school is supported by Remote Africa Safaris’ Tafika Fund.

ACTIVITIES: Game drives (with maximum of 4 guests per vehicle), night drives, walking safaris, mountain bike safaris.

CHILD POLICY:  Children 8 years and older welcome at Tafika. Younger children may be accepted at at our discretion. Children under 12 years of age shall enjoy a 50% discount on the standard rate. Children under 12 years are strictly not permitted to participate in walking safaris.

GETTING THERE: Transfers are available from Mfuwe airport (1.5 – 2 hr drive, incl. in rates) OR 15min flight Mfuwe airport - Mwanya (optional extra)
